Safety Measures For All Indoor Bowlers

Don’t step forward onto the carpet. To escape both leg and or arm fractures and to avoid carpet damage always take a single sideways step from the carpet ensuring that the front foot is placed well clear of the carpet edge. Don’t step or walk backwards anywhere on the carpet. There is the danger of tripping over bowls or stepping back onto opponents. Take care stopping bowls with the hands or feet. When standing behind the carpet don’t take eyes off a bowl in course. Don’t drive. Don’t toss jack or bowls up into the air for a one or two handed catch and don’t drop bowls. Don’t lick fingers. Grippo or other chemicals are not permitted. Don’t become dehydrated. Drink water before and during play. Don’t aggravate known injuries. Don’t commence play without a physical warm-up. Smooth flat soled shoes are required to be worn. These can be dangerous on wet surfaces. Don’t roll bowls back along the mat when the jack has been knocked off.
